Summer registration is open! Early-bird registration offers $5 materials discount until May 14.  We will offer Twist and Turn (ages 1-5 with parent) and Music Makers at the Seashore (ages 4-7) at Fairview Early Childhood Center in North Augusta for the first time!  Intro to Keyboard mini-camp will be offered both there and at Augusta Prep, and Keyboard days will be offered at Augusta Prep.

In summer only, we offer a pay-per-class option.  If you would like to take advantage of this option, you must sign up and pay in advance for the specific dates you plan to attend.

Monday classes begin Jan 14, and Tuesday classes begin Jan 22.  We are off for MLK day, but ON for Presidents' Day.  Masters Week is off for all classes of course.  The week of May 6 is the last week of regular classes, but save the date for Family Music Night May 14.  This is a bonus class and will be used as a makeup class if needed.

Welcome to Family Music of Augusta! We are pleased that you are considering music classes for your child. Research has shown that we are all born with an aptitude for music, but that aptitude diminishes if it is not actively nurtured between the ages of birth and nine. 

Musikgarten is a curriculum that teaches children music in the same way they learn language - first by listening, then by imitating.  All Musikgarten classes feature singing, listening, movement, and playing instruments.  There is a unified progression from baby classes to keyboard in which students see favorite songs from early classes and approach them with increasing independence and sophistication.

Early classes emphasize parent-child bonding with rocking, bouncing, and dancing together.  As the child progresses, she will begin to see music notation, but will not leave behind the storytelling, drumming, dancing, and singing of earlier classes.

While one class builds on another, you can begin at any class, and some classes can be joined mid-semester.  As you familiarize yourself with our class offerings and learn more about Musikgarten, we look forward to answering your questions and welcoming your family into our music studio.  Come for the fun - stay for the education!
