Leilani Miranda has been involved in music education for 45 years, specializing in early childhood music and movement for the last 25 years.  Holding a Bachelor of Music from Oklahoma City University and a Master of Music from the University of Houston, Miranda twice qualified for inclusion in Pi Kappa Lambda.

Miranda is certified Level III as an Early Childhood Music and Movement Specialist by the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association, of which she is an honorary lifetime member.  Miranda has received intensive and ongoing training under the celebrated authors Lorna Heyge and Audrey Silick, as well as numerous other specialists in the early childhood and music education fields.

Miranda is a national teacher trainer in early childhood music and movement, and teaches at various seminars, institutes, colleges and universities in North America. 

Since 1984, Miranda has had an active studio program in Houston Texas where she works with 50+ families and their young children.  Her studio and work have been featured on the local PBS station in Houston.

Christie Hamilton has been in music education for 10 years.  Christie attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas, The University of Houston, and graduated with honors from Texas A & M University – Corpus Christi.  She holds a bachelor of music education with all level certification.

After graduation, Christie taught elementary music to Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1^st Grade.  Two years later she started her family.  During her professional sabbatical, she raised two children, attended Musikgarten classes with her children, and stayed busy teaching children’s choir at church.

Jersey Village Baptist Church has been Christie’s musical outlet for the past four years.  She is the music teacher for Joyful Noise Preschool.  She has been the choir teacher for three year olds and is now the Pre-K children’s choir teacher.  Christie is also involved in the adult music ministry at Jersey Village.  She performs in the praise team, in the worship choir, and sings solos.

Now that Christie’s children are older (eight and five), she has started a new chapter in her musical life.  She has trained with Leilani Miranda.  Christie’s children are participating in Musikgarten classes, and Christie is interning with Ms. Leilani to learn the ins and outs of The Music Garden.  Christie will teach a toddler music group on Thursday evenings and another on Saturday mornings
