Want to hear your students playing and singing songs in just a few weeks - and be willing to "perform" in small groups? Want them to learn to understand and play chords with songs familiar to them? Music Makers at the Keyboard provides a pathway to true music literacy. This program is designed to teach the children to play the songs they will be hearing, singing, and dancing to in class. This is an extension of the work done in Music Makers: Around the World. This class follows a very sequential approach to building piano skills and understanding musical notation as set forth in the books, Music Makers: At the Keyboard. (However, Music Makers: Around the World is not a pre-requisite.)
Parents are requested to join this class for the entire period during most of the first year. This method of teaching piano is very non-traditional and requires the understanding and help of a parent or caregiver.
Children will receive 2 books, including 2 CDs and notation games for each semester. This winter session will be 13 weeks, starting January 9, 2024 - Start date changed to January 16, 2024
