one Early Childhood Music Class
Now Offering a Flexible Drop-In Option!
We’re excited to offer a limited number of drop-in spots for families who would like to join us! While the program is designed to be most enriching when experienced as a muliple week session, dropping in on a class can be a wonderful way to explore and enjoy a class.
Children thrive with regular weekly attendance, as it helps them grow more comfortable with the music and activities while building connections with other families in our musical community.
If you’re planning to join us for more than one class, you’ll just need to purchase the Home Materials for the session—these help bring the music experience to life both in and out of class.

Nimble and Quick
Nursery Rhymes Re-imagined with Movement and Music for 3 and 4 year old.
Children are born with a natural love of music. Three and four year olds are especially drawn to the rhythms and rhymes of language found in traditional nursery rhymes. Research reveals that there is a link between nursery rhyme knowledge of preschool children and their future success in reading, writing, and spelling. (Bradley and Bryant (1983, 1985) ). This collection brings those two joys together—blending music-making with the playful exploration of language.
The engaging, rhythmic language invites children to respond with movement, especially those eager to explore walking, jumping, twisting, and turning.
Sample Nursery Rhyme included in the program
“Oliver Twist, You Can’t Do This”
Oliver Twist Can’t do this
Touch his knees,
Touch his toes,
Clap his hands,
And around he goes.
Children love a challenge — as long as it’s one they can meet! In this rhyme we are challenged to see if we can do what Oliver cannot do. He can’t …
• touch his knees,
• touch his toes,
• clap his hand, and
• go all the way around.
This recorded movement that is included in the classroomm and parent recordings has Oliver doing four kinds of movement – Oliver Twist can’t do this Walk—Walk—Walk—Walk Oliver Twist can’t do this Twist—Twist—Twist—Twist Oliver Twist can’t do this Turn—Turn—Turn—Turn Oliver Twist can’t do this Tap—Tap—Tap—Tap. The catchy rhymes and lively rhythms help children quickly learn the verses, encouraging confident and joyful participation. They are encouraged to create other movements that Oliver Twist Can't do.....
Oliver Twist is a book by Charles Dickens that in the 20th century was made into the musical Oliver. The rhyme Oliver Twist, however, comes to us from children’s jump rope and hand slapping games in the elementary playground.
The recording that comes with program includes these sounds and instrumentsSpeaker, Clarinet, Bassoon, Pizzicato Strings, Woodblock, Slide Whistle, Celesta
